Set of 6 rare 'New Chair' model 271 designed by master woodworker George Nakashima
for Widdicomb-Mueller's Origins collection in 1958. Only produced for 3 years.
 
 Solid walnut construction with hickory spindles. Very solidly built. Sculpted seats make for very comfortable chairs. Beautiful woodworking joinery. Rare 'Titian' mark denoting finish
type on all chairs. Branded 'George Nakashima' on some but not all chairs as was typical when sold in a set. Originally sold to previous owners with an Origins series dining table as seen in final vintage image.
 
Chairs show age typical wear such as dings and finish wear. Two chairs have slightly
clouded areas of finish on the seat but this is relatively simple to rectify.
