Large Biomorphic earthenware sculpture made by ceramic artist Cristina Carver in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Other examples  from the same series are in the MET museum and notable personal collections.

In a 1989 article, Carver described the work as being ' created from white earthenware clays and colored by clayslips and commercial stains mixed with water. The artist rubs pastel or acrylics on ceramic surfaces and fixes them with an automobile lacquer so her final works may have what she terms "the sensuous feeling of look of wet clay". She makes clay armatures and builds up forms'. Kalamazoo Gazette, Oct 30th 1989.

Provenance: Purchased directly from the estate of Cristina's mother, Joan Carver.
