Early 1950s design from Mel Abitz when he was the designer for Scope Inc in Indianapolis with Forest Wilson. This is the only known example.
Minimalist iron frame with wood components and Formica surfaces. A unique feature of the desk is that the three pull outs (typewriter tray, 2 drawers) can be removed and slid in the opposite side to convert to a left or right hand desk.
Fiberglass scoop chair on swivel base is the perfect counterpoint with its graceful curves and playful color. Also designed by Abitz and featured together in period advertising.
