Exquisite and incredibly rare Rosewood and leather armchair designed by Ib Kofod Larsen and made by Christensen and Larsen. Model U56, this chair earned the nickname 'Elizabeth' after Queen Elizabeth II visited Denmark and acquired a pair. The chair is marked by the makers under the front crossbar (see photos). Reasonable offers will be considered. Condition: The solid rosewood frame is in excellent condition. Joints are tight, original finish is almost pristine and the grain is superb. The Leather seat and cushion has an excellent worn-in patina from 60+ years of use. There is light cracking and stretching in typical areas but no tears or holes.
