Remarkable bench by Danish modern master designer Finn Juhl for Baker Furniture's Modern line circa 1952. Unusual solid teak construction with beautiful grain throughout.
Marked with both the model number 456 and the Baker No 2 factory inspector stamp. There is also another mark of 464 - it is not clear what this relates to.
 
Built like an elegant tank, this design features architectural elements including beams that interlock in the center and on the ends, a floating top, a curvaceous lip and eye catching diagonal braces. This bench is in excellent original condition with very minimal signs of use.
