Very early version of this iconic design, most likely produced in 1957 based on the following details: 3 screw arm attachment (1956-1959), 5 ply shells, screw in ottoman feet, silver medallion, patent label (1957). 

Chair is in remarkably good condition. Brazilian rosewood shells retain their original lacquer finish, leather shows typical edge wear on piping and arms show cracking (see photos). Chair is structurally very sound and has not had the shock mounts replaced.
