Vintage 1950s Executive Office Group Desk designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller. Nelson claimed to have invented this L shaped desk archetype to boost efficiency in the workplace with a lower desk being suitable for a typewriter while only taking up marginally more space. This particular unit boasts a rare Nelson lamp unit that emerges through the white Formica desktop for a minimalist seemless appearance. This unit also features a walnut modesty panel, extra storage on the end of the credenza, two shallow staitonary drawers and two hanging file drawers. The original GN/HM medallion is in the top drawer and the aluminum pull is also embossed with the HM logo. In very good original condition with occasional wear on the cabinet edges and on the typewriter surface. The lamp is functional and the shade is in good shape apart from the top edge deteriorating somewhat but we are going to repair it.
