Hans Wegner's iconic AP19 'Papa Bear' chair and ottoman. Designed in 1951 and prized for its superb comfort and striking form. This example was reupholstered in the 1990s in an excellent Kvadrat speckled gray wool. It has oak legs and paws/nails on the end of the arms. Authentic features include paw details, the wedged tenon leg construction, back legs that run through to support the paws, slots in seat to recieve the webbing and an Ilums Bolighus metal tag. The black webbing is not original and was not run around the back stretcher - you can see the sunfading outlined where the original webbing was in the final photo. 
 
The ottoman features teak legs and handles and offers the perfect foot rest for ultimate comfort. While the dimensions, proportions and teak handles are identical to the original, the ottoman is unmarked and construction differences suggest it was made in the 1990s to accompany the chair when both were reupholsteredand bought by the previous owner.
