Sleek mid century modern coffee table with walnut top set on sating chrome legs with blackened steel stretchers attributed to Katavalos, Littel & Kelly for Laverne International, 1950s. Riffing on George Nelson's minimalist aesthetic for Herman Miller, this simple design is pure class. That this piece came from an architect's home in South West Michigan is no surprise:  it has excellent proportions, beautiful walnut and quality materials. The top has been refinished but shows light marking. Very solidly built.
