Birch dining table designed by Merton Gershun for his Budgetrend line for Dillingham. Unmistakably influenced by or copied from George Nakashima’s N20 dining table for Knoll in the late 1940s. Indeed several sellers have sold this as an actual Nakashima design but it is not. Although it shares the same edge profile on the short sides and wide leg stance, it has two spindle stretchers and the leafs insert differently. This table was made in the 1950s and has a single leaf that can be inserted into either end. In good original condition with age typical wear to the top including marks, dings and scratches.
