Early 1950s Paul McCobb solid maple desk and chair made by Winchendon for the Planner line. Showcasing McCobb's modernist take on Shaker furniture, strongly influenced by George Nakashima's early designs, this pairing shows a desk stripped down to its most basic elements; a knife edge plane for working, two drawers for storage and dramatically angled, tapered legs for support. In all original condition but remains very sturdy, showing a lifetime of use and wear - for the collector who loves patina! Sold as a set.
