A rare pair of boomerang framed mid century modern slipper chairs made by Artcraft / Robinson-Johnson in the mid 1950s. These striking chairs (Model N71) were produced as part of a line called Njordkyn and referenced the sleek Norwegian and Swedish modern designs of the time. Along with a similarly detailed sofa and bench, the line is prized among collectors of great design for its nod to Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings' work for Widdicomb a few years earlier. Distinctive three-pronged solid birch frames on brass plated steel legs combine to cradle very comfortable slipper seat. These seats were custom fabricated with new foam, webbing and luxurious fabric. Sold and priced as a pair.
