Very rare early bench design by Borge Mogensen known as the 272 model. Featuring Mogensen's fondness for simple, solid lines contrasted with the delicate nature of a woven cane surface, this piece marries the two beautifully. This bench is in good original condition with age typical wear to the cane - some strands are missing, some broken at one end and there is evidence of hot glue having been used to strengthen the seat. Despite these issues the bench remains very usable and retains a beautiful patina that only many years (almost 70) can produce. Pairs wonderfully with the Wegner CH27 chairs in this listing.
