A stunning and rare table designed by Merton Gershun for American of Martinsville in the 1950s. The top featured beautiful walnut grain book matched in quarters, classily set off by a white Formica circle in the center. The trademark aluminum Xs inlaid into the table top are another exquisite design touch. Originally designed as a game table, this piece works equally well as a buffet table, entry table or casual dining table.
The table top has been expertly refinished to showcase the beautiful natural walnut wood grain. The center formica area is in very good condition with a few very faint marks. The table is very sturdy and well made with no movement or wobble.
