A very unique perhaps prototype desk consisting of an extruded Aluminum frame, teak plywood panels, and a large leather-covered desk top.
The distinctive 3 bladed frame features a combed outer face, the back of which can receive panels slotted in from two directions. The frame is attached to the desktop with oversized solid Aluminum discs and frame connections are made with hex bolts.
The desk features two large drawers, the lower for hanging files and a shallow center drawer for stationery. This drawer includes a pencil dish and drawer dividers. To the left of this is a pull-out tray probably intended for use as a typewriter surface.
Patent-pending stamps on the drawer sides, the materials used, and construction methods, along with the presence of the pullout tray suggest the desk was made in the 1960s or 70s, and likely in the USA.
Dimensions: 84" long x 36" deep x 30" high
