From well known mid century modern architect's Pittsburgh studio, this minimalist shelving unit features a combination of solid walnut shelves, grooved walnut shelves and walnut slats. There is an open section lower right suitable for art or larger sculpture. Custom made and designed by architect J.James Fillingham for his space, this is a very nice high contrast piece with modular feel and the unique slat section is particularly eye catching. Probably based on George Nelson's designs and a similar piece made by Vista of California from the early 1950s. In good original condiiton with light warping to some shelves and occasional paint loss. Includes original abstract art piece by Kelsi Schmottlach and Griffin Giberson.
