What We're Loving: June 2017

One of the great things about owning a business like Trystcraft is having the opportunity to meet like-minded people. On any given day, we might be discovering wonderful homes on Instagram, touring museums exhibits via Facebook or meeting local artists, dealers and restoration experts in person.

We're excited to start a monthly blog post called What We're Loving. This is a space where we share the love and showcase some of the most exciting, interesting and attractive things we've come across that month. Without further ado...

If you want to drool over some exceptional architecture, make sure you're following Nate Cole on Instagram. Nate is a real estate agent at Unique California Property, but he's also curated an excellent Instagram. Even if you're not in the market for property, it's worth drooling over his beautiful (and frequent) posts.

FLW Cakes

Frank Lloyd Wright Birthday Cake

Okay, this one is a little unusual, but it was still a highlight for us at Trystcraft. We were fortunate enough to be invited to a 150th birthday party for Frank Lloyd Wright - in a Frank Lloyd Wright home. The perfect setting, of course! We sang happy birthday (there was some confusion over who would blow out the candles) and got to dig into a delicious birthday cake. What could be a more appropriate cake than one with FLW's signature right across the top? This was a fun and memorable way to celebrate the birth of an iconic architect, and we're grateful we were able to join in.

They have a blog. They have an Instagram account. More importantly, they have an incredible 1958 pre-fab Alside home that you can't help but love. Check them out if you want to drool over fantastic design and original Knoll furnishings or if you're curious about their latest projects: Adding in a pool and doing some exciting landscape design to put the finishing touches on their beautiful home.

Mid mod pin marina towers chicago

If you want to inject a little mid-century modern flair into your life, check out Mid Mod Pin. They have a great range of pins designed after A-frame cabins, the Guggenheim, tulip chairs and more. Our collection so far consists of the Eames House, a pair of Marina Towers and a fabulously retro Old Fashioned cocktail pin. We'll definitely be adding to this collection soon!

We'll showcase more of our favorites in July! If there's something fantastic in the world of mid-century modern furniture, design or architecture you think we should know about, send us an email at contact@trystcraft.com.
