We're obsessed with A-Frames at the moment so it's no surprise there's a quirky A-frame in this week's roundup. There are also split-level houses with lots of original features, a giant Usonian house and even a home designed by an apprentice of Philip Johnson.

We love the split-level design, the overhangs and the fireplace. Those George Nelson lamps throughout the space are great, too. Also wonderful curb appeal.

Warm and Wooden Architect-Designed Home in Saint Paul, MN - 1,408 sqft. ($299,900)
This is another great architect-designed home with beautifully exposed structural details. The shell is ready to be softened with appropriate furnishings. I'm not a fan of the dark gray block wall surrounding the fireplace (perhaps it has already been painted?) but that can be changed. Long ledge across from the fireplace is a built-in sofa, and the kitchen cabinets look fantastic. A little restoration could make this home truly incredible.

This 1956 architect-designed home by Glenn Beach is a mammoth 5,451 square feet, but it still has the traditional Usonian style. Great use of natural materials, beautiful beams, nice walls of glass and countless other architectural details. The sprawling property is expensive for the area, but it is a huge home is filled with light and is virtually move-in ready.
